Mr. Collins serves as the strategic advisor to the Real Estate Group. He has over 25 years of experience in the real estate private equity sector as an investor and as an attorney. He started his career as an attorney at several leading international corporate law firms, including serving as a Partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis and most recently in the Los Angeles of Norton Rose Fulbright. His legal practice focused on complex business transactions in the real estate industry and included advising some of the world’s leading private equity firms and real estate operating companies. After leaving private practice, Mr. Collins became the Managing Director-General Counsel of Hackman Capital Partners, LLC (“HCP”) where, in addition to overseeing all HCP’s legal functions, he was a member of HCP’s Investment Committee and its Management Committee. During his tenure at HCP, Mr. Collins was part of a senior team that acquired over $700 million of real estate and grew HCP’s holdings from 3 million square feet to over 16 million square feet across 9 states. He has deep experience in sourcing, structuring, and managing real estate investments across all major asset classes, and has been involved as an investor, attorney, or lead advisor in over $10 billion of transaction value. Mr. Collins holds degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice law in New York and California.
